University of Otago Information Literacy Guide

The University of Otago Library has developed a generic Information Literacy Guide aimed at building information literacy skills, course by course, within a degree. The skills and concepts outlined at each level are directly linked to the learning outcomes specified in the ANZIIL Information Literacy Framework 2004 (PDF 405 K).

The guide consists of four progressive levels:

The levels do not necessarily parallel 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th+ year courses although in many cases a direct relationship will exist.

This guide was devised using 'mapping' techniques developed by Queensland University of Technology Library and presented at ANZIIL Symposium Series 1 in July 2003.
