Types of codes

General Ledger

New format: GL.12.AA.A12.1234.12.

If you know your old account code (eg. LAGA 01244)

1. Find your old General Ledger (Counterbalance) account code on the Account Code Mapping Table and map it to the new (Finance One) code.

2. You now just need two more numbers to complete the new code: the dissection and sub-dissections.

• Dissection: most library purchases will use 7775.
• Sub-dissection: default is 00.

• Example:
• Using an old general ledge code of LAGA 01244.
• Find the first six characters of the code: LAGA01
• This would map to GL.10.AA.A01 in the new system
• Then add the dissection and the sub-dissection (eg. 7775.00)
• The new code would be: GL.10.AA.A01.7775.00

Contact your department administrator to confirm the dissection and sub-dissection codes you should use.

If you don't know your old account code

To find out your new (Finance One) account code, contact your department administrator or finance1.helpdesk@otago.ac.nz

Research

New format: PL.123456.12.A.AB.1234.12.

Trusts

New format: TR.A123.1234.
