Notable features
|
|
The internal atrium emphasised by the curved Oamaru stone wall
provides a useful orientation point when moving around the
building. |
| |
The sails suspended over the
atrium serve both to reflect light down to the lower floors
and to deflect glare from the screens in the Audiovisual area. |
| |
Quietness, achieved by the
use of materials with suitable acoustical properties. |
| |
At Ground Floor level the building
is penetrated by the East Lane that facilitates access to
the Campus from Albany St, as well as the link which runs
from the Museum Reserve to the Castle Theatres. |
 |
Stacked carrels above the atrium
are one of the 27 different types of study spaces available. |
