About the Medical & Dental LibrariesMedical LibraryThe Library is housed on floors 1-3 of the Sayers Building at 290 Great King Street. Enter through the south entrance on Great King Street, or through the Lindo Ferguson Building at 1st floor level. The Medical Library contains 150,000 volumes (of which 79,000 are books), and receives over 1,600 periodicals. There is seating accommodation for 312 readers. Important historical collections are housed in a special area on the 3rd floor. Access to these collections is by arrangement with Medical Library staff.
Dental LibraryThe Library is located on the ground floor of the School of Dentistry. Access is through the Frederick Street entrance to the School of Dentistry. It contains the Dental book collection of some 2000 volumes. Current issues of print journals are displayed in the Dental Library, although the journals collection is housed on the second and third floors of the nearby Medical Library. While it primarily serves the students and staff of the Faculty of Dentistry, it is open to all members of the University, to dental practitioners, and to members of the public. There is seating accommodation for 85 readers.
