The Photographs Collection is a national collection with a particular responsibility for collecting and preserving the photographic heritage of Otago.

The scope of the collection is wide, focusing specifically on New Zealand and Pacific material, including a number of studio collections by Otago and Dunedin photographers. The range of material collected includes: prints, negatives (both glass and film), slides, lantern slides, albums, postcards and panoramas.

Reproductions can be ordered in most cases. These are subject to conditions of copyright and preservation requirements.
