Guided Search

Guided search button

finds records using keywords or phrases located anywhere in a record, or only in specific fields.

To perform a Guided Search

  1. Enter the search term(s) you want to find in the Search for box
  2. Select whether to search for all of these terms, any of these terms, or the terms as a phrase
  3. Select a specific field from the Search by box
  4. Use AND, OR, or NOT to combine the next search terms
  5. If required, click More Limits to apply limits to your search
  6. Select how many search results you want displayed on each page
  7. Click Search

Search for information about tourism in New Zealand but not about adventure tourism

Guided search

Note:

  • Click Reset to clear the Guided Search page

Practice Example:

Search for information comparing human rights in England and New Zealand before the year 2000.
